Betty Kyzer Chastain Ravert, age 76 of Rowlett, TX, passed away June 15, 2010. She was born April 18, 1934 in Lubbock, TX, to William Edward & Hattie Emeline (Wells) Kyzer. Betty received her journalism degree from East Texas State University when she was in her mid 50's and retired from Raytheon in Greenville in 1999. She was a lifelong member of the Baptist community, attending Baptist churches wherever she lived. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, art and writing, and was a published author.
Betty is survived by her husband: David Ravert of Rowlett, TX; daughters: Kimberly Taryn Evans & husband William of Friendswood, TX, Pamela Kay Baden & husband Joseph Alan of Houston, TX, and Kelly Jhan Chastain & husband Jack Cowley of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren: Austin Charles Evans & wife Margaret Shay of Richmond, TX, Bailey Jo Evans of Houston, TX, and Casey Nicole Baden of Houston, TX; and sisters: Helen Martin of Conroe, TX, and June Pirtle of Los Alamos, NM. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Charles Edward Chastain; brothers: Elvis, Derwood and Murray Kyzer; and sisters: Maurice Kyzer Simmons and Ethel Kyzer Pirtle. Betty was a cherished wife, mother and friend, who will be greatly missed.
