Neva Joyce Duckworth, age 75 of Rowlett, TX, passed away April 15, 2010. She was born January 28, 1935, in Dallas, TX, to George A. and Bernice (Holland) Rowan. Joyce was a resident of Rowlett for 55 years and a founding member of First Baptist Church. She was a devoted homemaker and never moved from her first home because her neighbors were very special to her and she enjoyed visiting with them. Joyce was a loving wife and mother who adored her grandchildren. Her hobbies included crocheting and reading.
Joyce is survived by her husband: Jesse Duckworth; daughter: Debbie Drain and husband Reginald; son: Terry Duckworth; grandchildren: Jessica Drain, Chase and Chelsi Duckworth; sister: Wanda Garbe. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am Monday, April 19, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett Chapel with Dr. Steve Leatherwood officiating. Interment will follow in Big A Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00pm.
