Robert was born in Surry Co, NC on Nov. 7, 1846, the youngest son of Amor and Sallie Hill Jackson. He grew up in Westfield, and married Laura Virginia Hill. (Another source has her name "Laura Tilly" married Jan 6, 1872 in Stokes County, NC.) The date of their marriage is unknown. Laura died Nov. 12, 1927 and Robert died Mar. 3, 1932. They both are buried in the Westfield Friend's Church Cemetery. They were the parents of nine children:
