Roy was the son of Harvey John Felkey & Carrie 'Rebecca' Godfrey. He married Marilla Ellen Hockett on 2 Feb 1899.

Contributed by Merllene - Armstrong Man Dies - Funeral services are tentatively set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Armstrong Presbyterian church for Roy Felkey, 77, who died a Holy Family hospital about 6:45 last night. Mr. Felkey had been at the hospital since Wednesday and had been in failing health for several months.

He was born Nov. 27, 1878 at Armstrong and has lived in Armstrong for his entire life. He attended the Armstrong schools and farmed until his retirement several years ago. Mr. Felkey’s parents were pioneers in Armstrong and his father was one of the pioneer businessmen of that community.

Mr. Felkey is survived by his wife, Nettie, two daughters, Mrs. Doris Cartwright and Mrs. Alfred Kane, both of Elgin, Ill., one son, Donald Felkey of Water, Minn., one sister, Mrs. J.V. Burkhead of Armstrong, and eight grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lela Mathews, and two grandsons.

The Rev. A.R. Orr will preside at the services and burial will be in Armstrong Grove cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 31, 1956
