Nathan was the son of Charles Christopher "Chris" & Julia Ann (Harris) Pritchett. He married Martha Stotts on January 9, 1890 in Plymouth co, Iowa. They came by wagon to Boyd co, Nebr in 1891. A daughter was born and died along the journey, she was buried on the place Nathan and Martha homesteaded, farmed, and lived at the remainder of their lives. They had eight more children: Marion, Andrew, Walter "Jim", Mary Tork, Etta Lewis, George, Ella Reynolds (buried in Kansas) and Thomas.
