Audrie S. Flowers, 88, of Paducah, passed away at 11:05 p.m. on Saturday September 3, 2011 at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mrs. Flowers retired as a Dietary Supervisor from Western Baptist Hospital in 1986. Prior to that she taught for 15 ½ years in the McCracken County School System.

She enjoyed reading, quilting, and traveling to see her family. In addition, she collected baskets and owls; and was an avid UK Basketball fan.

Mrs. Flowers was a Charter Member of Concord Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children: Ruth Cooper and husband Kenneth of Culpeper, VA, Dorothy Jean Swain of Paducah, KY, Kaye Hamblin and husband Carl Jr. of Calvert City, KY, and Robert Flowers and his wife Hyo Suk of Clarksville, TN.

Grandchildren: Laura and Patrick Lunceford of Culpeper, VA, Donna Cooper of Charlottesville, VA, Denise and Billy Sullenger of La Center, KY, Jennifer and Bobby Swain of West Paducah, KY, Carla and Todd Swinford of Paducah, KY, Tina and Cary Hamblin of Baton Rouge, LA, Kristi Hamblin of Edinburgh, Scotland, Arthur Flowers of Clarksville, TN, Amiee and Justin Warren of Jacksonville, FL.

Great Grandchildren: Mallory, Grady and Nathan Lunceford, Audrie and Austin Swain; Erin and Patrick McIntyre; Laya and Chance Warren.

Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Flowers; her parents Daisy and Robert Stone, sister and two sons.

Funeral Services for Audrie S. Flowers will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday September 9, 2011 at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Joel Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Christian Church Cemetery in Kevil. Visitation for Mrs. Flowers will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the funeral home.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Flowers, Bobby Flowers and Bill Flynn. Pallbearers will be Arthur Flowers, Dana Flowers, Mike Flowers, Kenny Fukuhara, Carl Hamblin, Matt Kaletch, Nathan Lunceford, Patrick McIntyre, Bobby Swain, Austin Swain, Billy Sullenger.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to National Quilt Museum, 215 Jefferson Street, Paducah, KY 42001 or to the American Heart Association, 240 Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222.
