Hezekiah Baker

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday afternoon in the Robinson Funeral Home, followed by interment in the Greenwood cemetery, for Hezekiah Baker, aged 89 years, a life-long resident of the county, who died on Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kinney Stephens, of Washington street. The deceased, who had lived for a long period in the vicinity of Dixonville, held membership with the Twolick Baptist church. He was first married to Miss Catherine Buterbaugh, who died October 3, 1867, and later married Mary Ferguson who passed away in June, 1920. The surviving children are Mrs. Kinney Stephens, of town; Enos Baker, of Home; Mrs. Jennie Decker, of Clymer; Mrs. Alice Lewis, of Belsano, and Eldis Baker, of Beaverdale. He also leaves 22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Lucy McCullough, of Indiana, and Mrs. Jane Learn, of Cuba, N. Y.

NOTE: This obit has his first wife's death as Oct. 3, 1867, when that was actually their marriage date. She died June 3, 1906.
