1st husband Henry Lewis Shipes

Doris S. Paolini, 87, passed away after a brief illnes on Oct. 8, 2013. She was born in Orange-burg, South Carolina to Clarence and Ethel Antley on August 9, 1926. She graduated from Cope High School in 1943. She was married to L. John Paolini in South Carolina and moved to DeLand, Florida where they resided for the remainder of her life in the reflection of the St. John's River, which she loved so much. She enjoyed the outdoors and being close to the water, and also making people laugh. She was employed in the '50's & '60's with A&P Graocery Store, Food Lion, and Winn Dixie. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Marvin and Mickey Shipes, her mother and father, Clarence and Ethel Antley, her sister, Blanche Hughes, and two brothers Neville and Carl Antley of Orangeburg, South Carolina, adoring nieces and nephews, as well as many neighbors, and great friends, and her cat Fluffy. We all enjoyed her sassy down home wisdom. We shall all miss her and the love and happiness she gave everyone. A Memorial Service will be held Sat., Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, 1365 West Plymouth Ave., Deland, FL 32720.
