GUILFORD - Irvin H. Abbott, 78, passed away June 26, 2010, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born Feb. 11, 1932, in Eastbrook, to Leslie and Angie (Ashe) Abbott. Irvin served in the Air Force during the Korean War and retired from Pride MFG after working there for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Zelma (Flagg) Abbott; children, Glenn Stevens and his wife, Lisa, of Hendersonville, N.C., Nadine Abbott of Guilford, Howard Abbott of Eastbrook, Eric Abbott and his wife, Shawna, of Guilford, Valerie (Abbott) Norman of Guilford and Warren Abbott and honorary family member, Julie Patterson, of Abbot; grandchildren, Ryan Abbott, John Firth III, Heather, Chad and Corey Stevens, Maggie and Ethan Abbott; great-granddaughter, Hannah Firth; sisters, Bertha Taylor and husband, Keith, Patsy Firlotte and husband, Paul, and Marcia Chapman and husband, Dick; many special nieces and nephews.
