GEORGE AND PETER KESSLER KILLED
------
Run Down and crushed on a Railroad Track
-----
Scranton, June 8. - George and Peter Kessler, employes of the Glenburn Ice Company, were run down and killed on the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western tracks north of this city last night. They had stepped from one track to avoid the Buffalo Express and were struck by a "pusher".

The above Associated Press dispatch appeared in Thursday dailies. The victims are brothers, sons of Mr. Samuel Kessler, of West Buffalo Twp., this county. Both were married men, their families residing in the township named. George was 28 years of age and leaves a wife, four children and two step children; Peter was 31 years old and leaves a wife and three children.
The accident happened between 12 midnight Tuesday and 1 a.m. Wednesday. George was killed instantly and Peter died from his injuries a few hours after being taken to the hospital.
The remains of both victims arrived at the station in Mifflinburg on Thursday afternoon, where their immediate familie, including the aged father , and their brother, Wm. H. Kessler, also of Scranton, had assembled to receive and convey them to their homes. It was a touching, heart-melting scene. The sadness of it will linger with those who witnessed it for many a long day. May a merciful God be their comforter to their sore distress and great bereavement.
The funeral took place on Friday at 10 o'clock a.m., conducted by Rev. John L. Beaver. Interment was made in the cemetery at Forest Hill.
We are informed that there was a very large attendance, the church not being able to accomodate all the people, the porch of the church also being crowded.
