Winnie Mae King passed away Jan. 21, 2010, surrounded by her family.

She was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Collin County to Jean and Josie Wygal. On Oct. 29, 1953, she married Rex King in the Hendrix community. After almost 57 years of marriage she and Rex had remained sweethearts, enjoying countless hours riding through the countryside in their antique cars and exchanging stories they had told each other many times over.

She had lived in the Caddo Mills area most of her life and attended school in the Hendrix community.

Mrs. King's life was devoted to instilling strong Christian values to her family, teaching by example the importance of a good relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

She had a special relationship with her grandchildren, Keri and Brent, and always let them know they held a special place in her heart.

Mrs. King is survived by her husband of Caddo Mills; a son, Phil King and wife Kathy of Caddo Mills; grandchildren Keri Summers and husband Cory and Brent King and wife Heather and great-grandchildren Josie and Jackson Summers and Case King, all of Caddo Mills.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Edward and Paul Wygal; sisters Mildred Farmer, Ruenell Dillon and Dee McKenzie and an infant sister, Jean Kathryn.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Full Gospel Worship Center in Caddo Mills.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rentfrow Funeral Home in Caddo Mills.
