Martha Amanda Gillett was the daughter of Abner C Gillett 1789 and Electa Mills.
Her father was born in Chatham, Columbia, New York, and by 1820 was in Westford, Otsego, New York and married. In 1830 he was in Lyons, Wayne, New York, and in 1840 in Junius, Seneca, New York.
Probably about 1842, in Galen, Wayne, New York, Martha married Delos W Colvin. The couple lived in Galen in 1850, moved to Seneca, Ontario by 1860 and to Geneva, Ontario County by 1870. There Delos worked on a stage line.
The couple had four children: Erasmus Darwin Colvin 1843, Albert C Colvin 1845, Byron Colvin 1847, and Joseph L Colvin 1851.
