Ola Mae Aitchison Bowman, 85, of the Cravens community of Ozark died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville. She was a retired schoolteacher with more than 30 years of service and dedication to the Ozark school district. She found tremendous joy in seeing her past students succeed. She was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Henryetta, Okla., the third of six children born to Thomas Morgan and Mary Viola Dickerson Aitchison. She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Mountain Top Assembly of God. She was a dedicated prayer warrior and faithful servant of Christ, setting the example for all generations following her. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.B. Bowman; one grandson, Edward Kennith Jackson Jr.; her father and mother; two brothers and a sister.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. George Willis and the Rev. Jim McElhaney officiating with burial at Belt Cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home


She is survived by two daughters, Barbara L. Marsac and husband Charles Wayne of Hot Springs and Linda L. Jackson and husband Edward Kenneth of Pine, La.; two sons, Rickey L. Bowman and wife Dianna Lynn, of the Cravens community and Randy M. Bowman and wife Teala Dawn of the Watalula community; a sister, Joyce Kenny of Ozark; a brother, David Aitchison of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren, Reesha Davis and husband Kenny; Twanna Meiners, Adrienne Green and husband James, Radonna Jackson, Shaunna Jackson-Monroe and husband Michael, Amanda Newberry and husband Jody, Lindsey Holt and husband Jared, Michael Bowman and wife Amanda, Elise Bowman, Robert Bowman and Ethan Bowman; and 16 great-grandchildren, Brianna, Matthew, Taylor, Braden, Shaylea, Gabriel, Cameron, Garrison, Eric, Andrew, Sebastian, Skyler, Trevor, McKinnley, Cooper and Josie.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Davis, James Green, Jody Newberry, Michael Monroe, Jared Holt, Michael Bowman and Robert Bowman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Thurman "Cobby" Cagle, Robert Willard Adams, Bob Evans, Mark Rogers, Rob Harmon, Dusty Lane, Joe Parrish, Mark Weseman, Randy Elder, Rhonda Smith and Carol Harmon.

The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 W. Commercial, Ozark, AR 72949.
