BUCK HARRY (Daisy), (McClain & Buck), r 418 W 3rd

From the June 3, 1958 issue of the Illinoian Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois: Harry Buck, 81, who had served as an alderman in the fifth ward for 16 years and who was desk clerk at the Park hotel, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday at Schmitt Memorial hospital where he had been a patient since May 16. The body was removed to Cline's Funeral home where friends may call from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Cline's Funeral home with the Rev. W.R. Hampton of Lewistown officiating. Harry Buck was born February 8, 1877 in the Buck community near Hagener station, the son of Martin V. and Nancy Driscoll Buck. He was one of seven children, all of whom preceded him in death. He was married to Daisy Norvell of Rushville, on September 26, 1899. She died October 12, 1951. Surviving are four children Robert Buck of Lewistown, Mrs. H. T. James of Decatur, Miss Eloise Buck of Tacoma, Washington and Mrs. Elaine Murray of this city. There are 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mr. Murray was a member of the Congregational church.

From the June 6, 1958 issue of the Illinoian Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois: Funeral services for Harry Buck, 81, former fifth ward alderman who died Monday at Schmitt Memorial hospital, were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Cline's Funeral home. The Rev. W. R. Hampton, pastor of the Methodist church at Lewistown, officiated. Mrs. George McKnight was organist. Flowers were arranged by Mrs. George Perlukas, Mrs. Lyle Kuhn, Mrs. M. K. Moores, Mrs. R. A. Bergland, and Mrs. Carl Pilger. Pallbearers were Nick Leoucis, Fred Weber, Roy Strayhorn, John Glenn, Ralph Baxter, and Paul Harrison. Burial was in the family lot in the city cemetery.
