Nancy was living in Bingham, Clinton County, MI, with her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Perry Putnam for the 1880 census. She was 82 at the time. She was most likely still living with them when she died, to the best of Ann's knowledge, on 3 Mar 1888. The extant records for Greenwood Cemetery don't start until 1891, so they're no help on whether or not Nancy's body was returned to NY for burial, but there is no evidence on the ground that she's there. A possible scenario is that she was buried in MI, and perhaps in the same cemetery as Martha and Perry. We were wondering if, in your travels around that part of the world, you might have come across a Nancy Alvers, 1798-1888.
