Death of George Tubbs
George M. Tubbs, 76, a retired farmer, died at 8 a.m. last Thursday in his home here, after a short illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm Saturday, at the Nelson Funeral Home. The Rev. E.J. Jeffrey, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated, and burial was in Union Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Tubbs was born August 25, 1862 in Clearfield County, Pa. He operated a farm north of Darlington for many years.
Surviving are the widow, Elizabeth Tubbs (error should be Rachel); three daughters, Mrs. George McKillip, Mrs. Louis Hines (Heins) and Mrs. Joseph McKillip, Mineral Point; two brothers, Jesse and Edward Tubbs, Lake City, Iowa; and two sisters, Mrs. Matt Johnson, of Tyler, Minn., and Mrs Lyle Haley, Lake City, Iowa.
