Edith Mae Killman was born October 20, 1909 at Weleetka, Oklahoma to William Frank and Will May Chappell McReynolds. She had six siblings. She attended schools in Weleetka area. According to the United States Census, she was able to read and write at ten years of age. She married George Killman and they moved to Dallas, Texas and had a daughter Margery who was born March 06, 1932 and succumbed to diphtheria on August 07, 1933. After their daughter's passing they moved back to Oklahoma to be near family. They had two children born in Oklahoma, Marilyn and Elsie Killman. Edith's husband was a farm laborer and it was hard for him to find work due to the devastation of the "Dust Bowl". Them like many decided to move to California seeking work. They ended up in a Federal Migratory Camp at Imperial, California. Her husband George found work as a rigger on bridge construction. They had more children. Later they moved to Maricopa County in Arizona, where many of Edith's family members lived. They raised their children here, more children followed. Edith enjoyed making quilts, dolls and doing puzzles. Everyone you talk to say she was one of the sweetest person ever to be known.

Her survivors include her daughters Marilyn Roden, Elsie Vasquez, Patti Clark, Janie Horton; sons James, William, Vic and Mickey; brother, Heron; 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
