George William Killman was born January 15, 1930 in Mincy, Missouri to William Leonard and Rosa Killman. They were avid members of Mincy Valley Baptist Church Of Christ for years, at Mincy, Taney County, Missouri. According to 1930’s census George was living in the household of Jake Rice in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, USA working as a farm laborer. It was while living in this household that he met his future bride Edith Mae McReynolds living next door to him. They soon married and moved to Texas. While living there George continued farming and they started a family together. Marion Margery born 1932 in Dallas, Texas. Margery life was shortened by diphtheria, she passed in 1933 and is buried at Dallas City Cemetery, Dallas County, Texas. They moved back to Oklahoma and had more children and the family headed out West seeking work as many did at that time. George’s journey ends Avondale, Arizona. They had nine children together. George William Killman Passed away in 1974 in Maricopa County, Arizona, USA.
NOTE: I did George’s family line back to William Ross Killman, who was born 1638 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and immigrated to America in 1673 at Dorchester, Maryland. I found it strange that William Ross Killman also had a daughter named Margery born in 1660 born at Scotland. She also immigrated to America with her father William Ross Killman. Maybe the church in Missouri kept records of them. I have read a lot of the records they kept back in the church’s early years.
