MRS. JAMES ALLISON
Mrs. Della Allison, wife of James Allison, died at her home in this city on Wednesday, September 4, 1901, after an illness of several weeks with gall stones and abscess of the liver.
On the Sunday previous an operation was performed by Drs. Stanton, of this city, and Brockman, of Ottumwa, but it was discovered that it would be of no benefit, and on Wednesday death came as a welcome release from her sufferings.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. C. F. Sanderson, were held at the family residence on Thursday afternoon at four o'clock, after which the remains were interred in the Chariton cemetery.
Miss Della Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Lewis, was born in Indiana on February 13, 1865. With her parents she came to Wayne county, this state, at the age of five years.
She was married there on January 2, 1882, to James L. Allison, who survives her. They have resided in Chariton for sixteen years and she had many warm friends here who will learn of her death with deep regret.
