Rev. George Vergel Riley was born October 4, 1922 and went to his eternal reward on May 6, 2010. A faithful servant of God for 60 years, Brother Riley lived and preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He joins his best friend and devoted wife of 61 years, Robbie Jean Riley across the Jordan beyond the gates of Heaven. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dale Annette Ponder, son Joseph Vergel Riley, son-in-law Roy DeLeon and grandson William Shelton Ponder. He is survived by his daughter Laura Jeanette DeLeon, granddaughters: Carol Hodge, Jennifer Brown, Robbie Brannon, and grandson Mitchell Riley. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, family and friends."A Man's Heart Plans His Way But The Lord Directs His Steps." Prov. 16:9.

He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Rowlett, Texas. He was one of the kindest men I've ever met. A true Christian!
