JACK MACHMER

John E. "Jack" Machmer, died Febuary 22, 2000. He was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona on May 24, 1932, son of Elbert M, Machmer and Irene Rohder Machmer. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1950. He was on the 1949 St. Mary's Championship Football team. He owned and operated Jack's Automotive Service for over 30 years.

He was an avid sportsman and fisherman; he loved Cholla Bay and his home and garden. He was a great dad and was deaply loved by his two daughters, He will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gerald Machmer.

He is survived by his wife Flora Machmer, two daughters, Debra Knott and Susan Machmer-Ramirez, sons-in-law, Brad Knott and H. Rene Ramirez, brother Paul Machmer, and grandchildren Rebecca and Richard Ramirez, Erin and Eric Gustafson, David and his beloved Jackie Knott, relatives, and his many friends.

Visitation 6-8 pm Tuesday, February 29 at Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd.

The funeral mass will be held at Saint Mary's Basilica, 231 N. 3rd Street on Wednesday March, 1, 2000, at 9:30 am followed by the burial at St. Francis Cemetery, 5005 E. Oak St. Phoenix, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jack Machmer Scholarship Fund, c/o Saint Mary's High School, 2525 N. 3rd Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004.
