Col. Leo Alexander Conner, age 89 of Rockwall, TX, formerly of Granbury, TX, passed away March 13, 2010. He was born October 9, 1920, in Wetumka, OK, to Woodford Grady and Nana (Belford) Conner. Leo attended the United Methodist Church and attained his Associate Degree from Oklahoma City College. He served his country in the U.S. Army, National Guard and Army Reserve, retired with 28 years of service from Amoco Production Company and was an active member of the Lions Club for many years.
Leo is survived by his sons; Mike Conner and wife Sharon of Oklahoma City, OK, and Rick Conner and wife Ginger of Bayfield, CO; daughter: Cherry Conner of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren: Jason, Joshua, Kari, Steve, Jason, Amanda, Sarah, Seth and Kacy; great-grandchildren: Max, Luke, Leo, Bree, Mehgan, Bailee, Syklee, Michael, John Michael, McKinsey, Taylor and Lola. His beloved wife Norma passed away on March 19, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Christopher Michael Conner.
Funeral services will be held 4:00pm Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Pastor Scott Holcomb-McLain officiating. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 3:00pm. Graveside services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, OK, with Dr. Mark Green officiating.
