Brady E. Hannah was born on January 7, 1930, in Madison County, Texas, to Hugh B. and Mary Ethel Hannah, and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 28, 2008, at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City at 78 years of age.
Brady was an area resident for 55 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Sweeny. He loved to hunt, fish and garden. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Brady is survived by his wife, Edith Edmonds Parten Hannah of Sweeny; sons, Mike Hannah and wife, Yuma, of Hope Mills, North Carolina, and Norman Hannah and friend, Susan Slimko, of Shady Acres; daughter, Roslind Clinton of Sweeny; sisters, Imogene Bledsoe of Sweeny and Orene Hooper of Houston; stepson, Marcus Ray Parten of Brenham; stepdaughters, Karen Harmon and friend, Mike Massey, of Fort Pierce, Florida, and Sharon Perry of Apache Junction, Arizona; and sister-in-law, Annette Caraway and husband Dr. R.B. Caraway, of Wharton. He also is survived by 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
Brady was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Ethel Hannah; brothers, Floy, Melvin and Gerald Hannah; stepson, Steven Parten; sister-in-law, Christine Wilson; and brother-in-law, W.L. Edmonds.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 31, 2008, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008, at 2 p.m. in Sweeny Cemetery with Kenneth Lott officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kerry and Cody Hannah.
In lieu of flowers, Brady?s family requests that memorials be made in his name to the charity of one?s choice.
