Junior Hays, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ercell Hays, and Miss Nadine Drake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Drake, were married Friday afternoon February 2, 1945 in Versailles. The ceremony was read by the Reverend E.B. Woods. The groom is a graduate of the Fortuna high school and is now engaged in farming. The bride, for several years, has been employed at the Tweedie war plant in Versailles. They were given a wedding supper at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Claude Bridges, and Mr. Bridges, Sunday evening. Members of the immediate families attended. They will make their home on the Jennie McPherson farm near Fortuna.

Ercell Hunter Hays, Jr. attended school in Fortuna, MO. He was a retired farmer, but also worked the weight scales at the Versailles Sale Barn and other barns in the mid-Missouri area for many years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals basefall fan. He is survived by his wife, Lora Nadine; a brother, Norman E. "Ted" Hays, Shawnee, KS; and sister, Minnie Lee Carter, Tipton, MO.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home with the Rev. Morris Potter officiating. Casketbearers were Okal Embry, Sid Duebbert, Bob Pace, Jack Hutchison, E. H. Fowler and Joe Ed Hartman.
