Wallace William "Wally" Gabrielson, 95, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East.

He was born on March 23, 1915 in Stanchfield, Minnesota to Erick and Lena (Erickson) Gabrielson. The family later moved to Breckneck Hill and Wally attended Elm Park School. In January 1941 he joined the United States Army, served during World War II and was honorably discharged in October 1945.

On December 18, 1942 he was united in marriage to Faith Hoagland and they made their home in St. Paul. While in St. Paul, Wally owned and operated a gas station for a number of years. In 1956 they moved to Cambridge and had one daughter Tami. He earned a degree from Minneapolis Business College in 1964. While living in Cambridge Wally worked as a salesman for Anchor Block and Economy Ready Mix until he retired. Wally remained in Cambridge during his retirement years, living on Old South Main Street and later Pine Village.

On October 28, 2001 he married Darlene Zellner and they lived in Cambridge.

In November 2009 he became a resident at GracePointe Crossing Gables East.

Wally was a member of the Stanchfield Baptist Church and then a member of First Baptist Church in Cambridge. He enjoyed caring for horses and deer hunting with his nephews and friends. Wally dedicated his life to helping others and was a very caring person. He always found the good in everyone and put others before himself.

Wally was preceded in death by his wife Faith, parents, brothers Archie, Arthur and James Gabrielson, sisters Maymie Christenson, Lenore Swanson, Lillian Wicklund and Jeannie Gabrielson. He is survived by his wife Darlene of Cambridge, daughter Tami and husband Alan Westberg of Cambridge, step daughters Barb and husband Dave Erickson of Cambridge, Cheryl and husband Rick Johnson of Cambridge, Darla and husband Brian Powell of Two Rivers, WI, two grandchildren Kaaren and Jonathan Westberg, seven step grandchildren Chad (Cassie) Erickson, Kim (Brandon) Pound, Bruce Johnson, Tracy Johnson (Eric Knake), Troy Johnson, David (Erin) Powell, Jennifer (Mike) Steltenpohl, 14 step great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
