Vernon R. Anderson, Sr.
Vernon R. ANDERSON, Sr., 59, of 1325 North Jackson, died Saturday night in a Topeka hospital. He was born October 15, 1898, at Mayetta and moved to Topeka from Holton in 1934.
He was an employee of the North Topeka Drainage Board until his last illness. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lenora I. Anderson, of the home; two sons, Vernon R. Anderson Jr., of the home and Glenn A. Anderson, Los Angeles, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Lucile SAMPLE, Mrs. Sarah HANSFORD, Mrs. Rosa LOPER and Mrs. Lois PITTMAN, all of Topeka; three brothers, Thomas Anderson, Susanville, Calif.; John A. Anderson, San Bernardino, Calif., and Jay Anderson, Reed Springs, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Marie JONES, Mayetta and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Eslinger Funeral Home with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
