The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Ed Nelson, Wayne Usry and Terry Christie officiating. Burial will be in Greensboro City cemetery.
Mrs. Tarpley, a native of Clarke County, was a spinner at Mary Lela Cotton Mills for 51 years and a member of First United Methodist Church of Greensboro.
Survivors include three sons, Charles F. Tarpley, Greensboro, Thomas T. Tarpley, Augusta, and W. Mell Tarpley, Columbia; a daughter, Annie T. Bray, Augusta; a sister, Aretta Hancock, Eureka, Cal.; and 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-children.
