Another old settler has passed away. After having lived among men and battled with the world for nearly 78 years, Mr. James Robbins passed away to his last rest at this home about three miles northwest of town yesterday. The cause of his decease was old age. He was born on the 17th day of September, 1817, and has lived here since 1861. He sent three sons to the war, two of whom died of sickness in the service. The remaining son, R. Robbins, lives northwest of town, and is well known here. The funeral services will be held at the house at 2 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. CO Roehr officiating. The remains will be interred in the Gishville cemetery. May he rest in peace. (He is the father of Alfred, Ransom, and Tennessee.)[Article and information Courtesy of Ruth A Miller]
