BENJAMIN W. ABBS
BENJAMIN W. ABBS, 67, of Carp Lake, died Dec. 3, 1985, at Little Traverse Division, Northern Michigan Hospitals, Petoskey.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the Mackinaw City Bible Church. The Rev. Reid Nelson will officiate and burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Mackinaw City.
Mr. Abbs was born Jan. 9, 1918, in Ecorse, the son of MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM ABBS.
On Aug. 22, 1936, he married the former GEORGETTA GRAMES. She preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 1984. Mr. Abbs was also preceded in death by two sons, MICHAEL and GEORGE ABBS.
Mr. Abbs was employed as an electrician and was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include; two sons ROBERT GRAMES of Carp Lake, and WILLIAM ABBS of Carnesville, GA.; five daughters, MRS. MELVIN (PATRICIA) PLOTKOWSKI of Westland, JUDY BRODD of Dearborn, MRS. FRED (MARY) SIKKENS of Carp Lake, MRS. WILLIAM (SANDRA) HUGHES of Carp Lake and MRS. DOUGLAS (SUSAN) GRACE of Pontiac; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan from 6-9 today and visitation at the church will be from 2 p.m. Friday until time of service.
