Dayton C. Casto, Sr. of Huntington, died Tuesday, April 27, at his residence after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at Reger Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carl Gaston officiating. Burial was in Woodmere Memorial Park. He was born May 30, 1892, in Jackson County, a son of the late William R. and Hannah Little Casto. He taught school in Mason and Jackson counties before moving to Huntington in 1917. He retired in 1957 from the B & O Railroad after 39 years of service. He served as the Republican committeeman in the Second Ward and was a member of Christ The King Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Lucretia Barnett Casto; three sons, Dayton C. Casto, Jr. of Great Cacapon, W. Va., A. Dale Casto of Rockcastle and Keith B. Casto of Huntington; four daughters, Mrs. Guy R. Metz of Barboursville, Mrs. Annabelle Turner of Rockcastle, Mrs. Charles W. Burks of Columbus, Ohio and Mrs. Betty Branham of West Chester, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Ward of Dunbar and Mrs. Dicie Cramer of Dayton, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
