Rev. Arron Wood, the oldest minister in Indiana, who had been failing for some time, died at his home, near Crawfordsville, on last Saturday morning, aged 82 years. His ailment was Bright's disease of the kidneys. He united with the M.E. Church at the age of 11, in the State of Virginia, and had been a faithful and conscientious Christian for 71 years. He was licensed to preach on August 24, 1822, and had continued an active worker in the ministry until 1885, when, at his own reqyest, he was placed on superannuated list of Methodist ministers, having been a preacher of the gospel over 63 years. In 1863 and 1864 he was pastor of the Perrysville circuit, this county. The funeral services took place on last Monday, the exercies being conducted by Elder J.W. Green, after which his remains were taken to Lafayette, and interred in Springvale cemetery.
