Mrs. Katherine Krier Schartz
Ellinwood – Mrs. Katherine Schartz, 77 202 W Second died Thursday evening in the Ellinwood District Hospital after a two-weeks illness. Funeral will be Saturday, 11 am, at the St. Josephs Catholic Church in Ellinwood. Msgr. A. L Meier will officiate. Burial will be in the Lakin- Comanche District Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 3 and 8 pm today at the Kimple Chapel in Ellinwood. Mrs. Schartz is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Roth of Ellinwood and Mrs. Jennie Kummer Great Bend; two brothers, Bill and Pete Krier, both of Claflin; four sisters, Mrs Lawrence Redetzke and Mrs. Mary Embry, both of Great Bend, Mrs. Anna Fierstein, Stratton, Colo and Mrs Frank Hoffman, Burlington, Colo. Her husband, Henry Schartz, died in 1944.
