She died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Mrs. Shelley was a cook at Good Shepherd Manor in Momence for 26 years.
She was born July 30, 1937, in Momence, the daughter of Chris and Bertha Van Gronagen Hop. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Albert Shelley, whom she married Aug. 12, 1955 in Momence; two sons, Albert Shelley Jr. and Kari Wright of St. Anne, Michael Shelley and Michael Datri of Joliet; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Tony Eckhoff, Pam and John Bosman, all of Kankakee; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Artie Pearson of Merrill, Mich., Delores Stowe of Paris, Texas, Caroline and Lawton Wilcox of Crown Point, Ind; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and three sisters are deceased.
She enjoyed going to garage sales, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, NASCAR races and sitting on her back porch.
