George B. DeMaris Passes Away at 78 At Home In Cedarville

A liftime resident of Cedarville, George B. DeMaris, husband of Bessie Earl DeMaris, passed away suddenly at his home there yesterday. He was 78 years of age.

An active member of the County Probate Office, Mr. DeMaris had served as guard at the Cumberland County Jail for a number of years until his retirement a few years ago.

For many years Mr. DeMaris served as Republican County Executive Committee member of Lawrence Township, which office he still held at the time of his death, and he was an active member and worker of the Cedarville Methodist Church.

Mr. DeMaris is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Nellie DeBere of Cedarville, and Mrs. Alma Robbins of Port Norris; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the chapel of Francis H. Tongue, Jr., in Cedarville, with interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7 until 8:30.
