Richard F. Ell, 79, of Bunting Lane, died Monday, December 7, 2009, at 2:15 a.m. at his home.
Mr. Ell was owner of Alloy Metal Sales, Inc. He was an Army veteran and enjoyed the holidays at Lake Santee with his family.
A private graveside service will be conducted at West Pennfield Cemetery in Battle Creek, Mich.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Regional Hospital Foundation.

Born in Kalamazoo, Mich., June 12, 1930, Mr. Ell was the son of Frederick T. and Lena M. Winslow Ell. He married Carol A. "Kay" Erickson on February 17, 1952.
Survivors include his wife; children, Rick Ell of Columbus, John Ell of Battle Creek, Mich., Julie (Brian) Sigman of Lafayette and Susan (Bob) Hale of Daphne, Ala.; a brother, John Ell of Kalamazoo, Mich.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Dell, Drew (Kate) Dell, Laura Dell, Thomas Webb, Shanna Hale and Kaitlyn Hale; and a great-granddaughter, Ava Cae Dell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
