In 1919, Mr. and Mrs. Koepeles sold out their store to JOHN and PHOEBE STEINEBACH who lived about 1/2 mile east of the church corner on and 80 acre farm with their five children. Through the property transaction, the Koepeles moved to the Steinebach farm while the Steinebachs took over the store and machinery business, later selling International Tractors and still later handling the Allis-Chalmer equipment. As cars became more numerous, they installed a gasoline pump and sold gas. This store was also used as a cream station where farmers would bring their weekly supply of dairy cream to be sold and the money most often was used to buy more groceries and sundries.

In the meantime the original first store building was sold and was moved in the autumn of 1914 to the Bernard Bembeneck farm east of the church. The following spring it was added onto the house and now is the south part of the home owned by Harry and Frances Kujawski. The walk in basement with a opening on the east side was turned into a grocery store, so for the first time, Hannah had two stores.

The Bembeneck's store closed after a few years, but the Steinebach store kept on supplying much of the farmers needs. It was a very busy place. On Sunday morning after Mass, the farm families would congregate at "The Store" and while the women were up front buying their weekly supply of groceries, the men would drift to the back part and (in the winter) would gather around the large "Round Oak" heating stove, swap jokes or catch up on the latest news of the area.

Even before Mass it was a gathering place to meet the neighbors and they often got so interested in their discussions they came late for Mass. This provoked Father Grinzinger very much. So he asked the ushers to ring the church bell five minutes early before Mass was to start to give the people time to get to church.

In 1948 John Steinebach died, but his widow kept on with the store till her failing health a few years later caused her to close it.
