Wesley Canfield, son of William Canfield and Maria Anthony died at his home in Chelsea on Wed., Nov 22, 1916. He was born in Rensselaer Co., NY Sept 5, 1841 and came into the Chelsea, Washtenaw Co, MI area when he was five years old. He served in the Civil War with Company A, Thirtieth Michigan Infantry and was honorably discharged due to an injury. He was married to Sarah Cornelia Letts, Dec 31, 1860 in Chelsea and to this union were born three children, the first dying as an infant, William E Canfield and Fred W Canfield. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Chelsea, MI. Survived by his wife and son W. E. Canfield.
