Aunt Martha was a good wife, mother, grandmother,& daughter. She was a good cook & would share her food with family & friends. She was always thinking of & giving to other people. Her & Uncle John would grow a HUGE garden & can as much fruits & vegetables as possible to get them through the winter and cook for family and friends. She was a BIG believer in using anything she could to stretch her food with new recipes from leftovers. She also loved to quilt & sew from scrap material she had accumulated from various sources. She would also make clothing from these scraps. Cathy Crowder said grandma used to say"Use it up,wear it out, make it do,or do without". All of her 3 sons served in the military(2 in WW2 & 1 in the Korean conflict) Aunt Martha was a stay at home mom but she was VERY busy teaching her kids & Grandkids how to make do with what you have. We all miss you!
