Suzanne Bagby, 54, of Horse Shoe went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2004, in Pardee Hospital after a short battle with cancer.
She was born in St. Petersburg, Fla., the daughter of the late Joseph Preston and Nancy Leduc Preston. After she moved to Henderson County 25 years ago, she was a teacher's aide at Mills River Elementary School. She later served as a secretary for Hendersonville First Baptist Church and the Henderson County Register of Deeds. More recently, she was a paralegal for the law firm of Prince, Youngblood and Massagee.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Frank Randall Bagby; a daughter, Christy Dowling of Syracuse, N.Y.; two sons, Michael Dowling and his wife, Dee, of Fletcher and Josh Bagby of Louisville, Miss.; a sister, Joanne Preston of Mexico; three grandchildren, Eddie and Max Nanno and Daniel Lewis Dowling; and her father-in-law, Forrest G. Bagby of Vero Beach, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. The Rev. Kenneth "Skip" Fendley will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Shuler Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 6284, Hendersonville, N.C. 28793.
