MRS. A. W. NELSON
Mrs. Andrew W. Nelson died at her home in Chariton on Thursday, October 25, 1934, at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 15 days, after an illness of several weeks with paralysis.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. M. S. Clark, of Woodburn, were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and burial took place in the Chariton cemetery.
Emma Catherine Mundell, daughter of Robert and Teresa Mundell, was born on the old home place three and one-half miles south of Lucas, Iowa, on June 10, 1866. She grew to young womanhood in that vicinity and was married on December 25, 1883, to Andrew W. Nelson, and for many years their home has been in Chariton.
Two children were born to them, one son and one daughter. The son, William Marion, passed away on January 27, 1928.
She leaves to mourn their loss her husband and a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Edith Harris, of Shattuck, Oklahoma, who was with her mother during her last illness. There are also eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren and one brother, A. F. Mundell, of Lucas, and a number of other relatives and many friends.
