GLISSON, William Earl, 57, Ripley, died January 1, 1979 in Tippah County Hospital. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church and a native of Alcorn County. Services were January 2 at 2 pm in First United Pentecostal Church with burial in Campground Cemetery. Bro Herman Hancock and Bro Dewayne Benefield officiated. McBride Funeral Home was in charge. Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae Glisson, Ripley; his parents, Mr and Mrs Hubert Glisson, Ripley; two daughters, Irene Burns, Ripley and Ruby Glisson, Little Rock, AR; three sons, Tommy Glisson, Blytheville, AR, James Edward Glisson, Byhalia, MS and Leon Glisson, Ripley; four sisters, Ruth Rainey, Elzada Tatum, Cordie Wilbanks, all of Ripley and Worthie Thrasher, Corinth; 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Billy Ray Otts, Bobby Otts, Rickey Luna, Danny Mathis, Allen Brady, David Hancock.
