Ida was born on 16 June 1904, at Locust Grove, Stone Co., Arkansas, the 8th child of John Washington and Nancy Catherine (Sutterfield) Branscum. She had 3 brothers and 7 sisters. Ida was first married to Spirlin Shelton of Stone Co., Ar. they had 2 children, Sally Juanita and Clarence "Junior" Shelton. Ida lived most of her adult years in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She last married Victor Baskin. They retired to Harrison, Boone Co., Arkansas in the 1960's where they lived out their lives. Ida loved beautiful flowers and her yard showed that love.
