MORNING WEDDING BURKE-CARR
Popular Young Couple Married at St. Charles Catholic Church
At the St. Charles Catholic Church at 8:30 this morning occurred the wedding of Edward Burke to Miss Sarah C. Carr, Rev. Father M. H. Bogeman officiating. The church auditorium was prettily decorated in palms and asters in honor of the event. The attendants were Miss Margaret Kerr and Daniel Greene. Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Henderson sang "Whisper and I Shall Hear." The ring ceremony was used. After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride on West Fourth Street. Two hundred invitations had been extended for the wedding.
The couple left at noon amid a shower of rice for the Jamestown exposition.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Carr, West Fourth Street, and is an accomplished young lady. For several years she has been an assistant at the Telephone office. The groom is a brother of Walter Burke, of the Post Office, and is a well known employee of the Monon.
Among those at the wedding from out of the city were Atty. and Mrs. A. J. Venneman of Evansville and Miss Eva Dalton, of Indianapolis.

Conductor Stricken on Train near Gosport and Rushed Back to Bloomington for an Operation
Taken suddenly ill on his run as a conductor on the Monon, Edward Burke was hurried home this morning and operated upon for appendicitis at the city hospital, and Dr. C. E. Harris, the surgeon, states that he found no complication, and he now sees no reason why there should not be a quick recovery.
Mr. Burke is a conductor on through freight No. 71 and left Bloomington at four o'clock this morning, north bound, but before reaching Gosport was taken suddenly ill. The freight was stopped there , and he was returned on the French Lick train, reaching here at 10:30, when he was hurried to the hospital and the operation performed.
Mr. Burke is one of the best known and most substantial Monon men and his home is on West 3rd Street.

Edward Burke, the well known Monon conductor, who underwent an operation for appendicitis at the city hospital yesterday, is in good condition today with every promise of recovery and the family is much encouraged.
