Bob spent his childhood growing up in the small community of Corry, PA that his ancestors helped to settle and establish. He spent a lot of his summers fishing at Findley Lake with relatives and friends.

His cousin Zoe Wilcox Pope gave him his first gift, the baby book where his many gifts are listed from his family and friends. His first visitors were: Grandmother Elisa Fox Sheely, his Aunt Carrie Fox, Uncle Will Wilcox and wife Clara and his cousin Evelyn Sheely were all there at the house the day he was born. There were many "cute" observations found in his book. From when he got his first teeth, to first step, and a listing of his first Christmas gifts.

1920 - Corry Census, Robert 8, with parents Frank and Carrie.

1924 - Dec 12th - Corry Journal --- Robert Wilcox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilcox celebrated his 12th birthday ... the table was decorated with birthday cake and candles ... after dinner a 'theatre' party was enjoyed at the Rex ... guest included Rex Mulheirn, Miller Shoop, John and Bill Wilcox ..."

1930 - Corry Census, Robert 17, with parents Frank and Carrie

1930 - Bob attended Concord School and graduated from Corry High School in 1930; College Preparatory Course, Howard J. Sheen, Principal. Class V.P., Athletic Club, Hi-Y, President. Mgr. football team, on Corrian staff.

1930's - He attended Denison University at Granville, OH where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha [The paddle is still in the family] and was in many different clubs at school, was manager of football team, and on the staff of the yearbook.

After college he moved to Philadelphia where he met our mother, Honorè Jane Dugan and from what they said it was a "whirlwind" courtship and they married shortly after meeting. He stayed in Philadelphia over 12 years, working for Firestone Tire and Rubber and Talon Industries. Their three children were born in Philadelphia.

1939 - August 4 --- Corry Journal -

WILCOX DUGAN NUPTIALS JULY 31 ANNOUNCED: Mrs. Otto J. Paul of East Germantown, PA, today announced the marriage of her niece, Miss. Honorè J. Dugan to Robert J. Wilcox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilcox, East Main Street, Corry which took place ... at the Immaculate Concystion Rectory at Germantown. The groom a graduate of Corry High School and Denison University at Granville is employed by Talon Co. of Phialdephia at which place they will reside.

1940 - Philadelphia Census - Robert 28, Honorè 22, living on Staunton Avenue.

1945 - He retuned to Corry upon the death of his father Frank Albert Wilcox.

1958 - He was active with the Corry PTA serving as 2nd V.P. until the family moved to Millcreek, PA and he lived there until his death in 1975.

1958 - 1975 - Bob spent his Erie years greatly enjoying new friendships. He was an avid antique gun collector and enjoyed going to the different gun shows, [he was very proud of the family guns that had been handed down from generation to generation] having early morning breakfast at Presque Isle, fishing, hunting and most of all, he loved being a grandfather. He was a great husband, father and grandfather and to this day is still missed by all.

ROBERT WILCOX DIES; WAS AUTOCLAVE AIDE - Robert Wilcox ... died at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Corry, son of the late Frank A. and Carrie Sheely Wilcox.

Employed by Autoclave Engineers, he at one time owned the Sonotone Hearing Aid distributorship in Erie.

Surviving are his wife, Honorè Dugan Wilcox, two daughters, Mrs. Donald [Gail] Spears and Mrs. ...; one son Robert J. Wilcox, and four grandchildren ... Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home ..., Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
