Luella G. Gilson
Luella G. Gilson, 74 of Port St died Tuesday evening, Sept. 22 in the Oswego Hospital where she had been a patient for 23 days.
Born Dec. 28, 1895 in the Town of Mexico, she was a daughter of Irvin and Lillian Allen, and attended school in Mexico.
She was married in Minetto to Harold A. Gilson on July 6, 1916, and they resided in the Town of Mexico until moving to their present home in 1918.
She was employed for a time at the Regal Paper Company and also worked as a clerk in local stores.
She was a member and past noble grand of the Rising Sun Rehekah Lodge, a member of Robert Edwards Post 358, American Legion Auxiliary and attended Park United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harold A. Gilson; a son, Harold A. Gilson, Jr. of Pulaski; four grandchildren and a great granddaughter; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Colle, Mrs. Irene Piper, both of Rochester and Mrs. Marion Denny of Miami, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Edwin A. Potter officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, following cremation.
