Scott Allan Houk, 42, of Moran, Kansas, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at his home.

Scott was born April 2, 1968, at Fort Scott, Kansas, the son of Robert Allan "Bob" and Janet Alliene (Jackman) Houk.

He grew up in Moran and graduated from Marmaton Valley High School in 1986. Scott has always made his home at Moran.

He had worked for Klein Tool and later at Gates Rubber Company in Iola, KS.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and all outdoor activities.

Survivors include two sons, Taylor and Dalton Houk both of Moran, KS; his parents, Bob and Janet Houk of Moran, KS; one sister, Sheri Smith and husband, Shane of Moran, KS; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Teri Wagner in 1991; and by his grandparents, C.A. and Elaine Houk and Herman and Florence Jackman.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Hope Chapel west of Bronson, Kansas. Inurnment will be at Moran Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials suggested to the Scott A. Houk Memorial Fund, and may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, KS, which is in charge of arrangements.
