Orpha A. Jasper, 94, Washington, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010, in Washington.

Mrs. Jasper, the daughter of the late William Roehrs and wife Elizabeth, nee Duerr, was born Nov. 13, 1915, in Leslie.

She received her education from Washington High School. On Oct. 21, 1939, she was united in marriage to Joseph Jasper in Washington.

Mrs. Jasper was a member for over 77 years at First United Methodist Church of Washington.

She was a recorder and treasurer for over 50 years for the Royal Neighbors. She was employed by International Shoe and Zero Manufacturing.

Mrs. Jasper was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Jasper; and three brothers, Emil, Roy and Ralph Roehrs.

She is survived by one son, William Jasper and wife Jeanne, Escondido, Calif.; one daughter, Mary Dothage and husband Wayne, Washington; her in-laws, Othmar and Marie Jasper, Omer and Marian Maune and Esther Jasper, all of Washington; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Martin and husband Darren and Jeffrey Jasper and wife Elizabeth; one stepgrandchild, Alexia ElWardani and husband Ladd; her great-grandchildren, Nathan and Ashley Martin and Sophia Jasper; one step-great-grandchild, Alea ElWardani; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 28, at First United Methodist Church of Washington, with the Rev. Jeff Carr officiating.

Interment was in St. Francis Borgia Cemetery, Washington.

Memorials to the church or Heartland Hospice are preferred.

The family was served by Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington.
