J.B. "Deck" McLemore, 95, of Springfield, FL passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at a local hospital. He was a longtime resident and commissioner of Springfield and also served as Mayor. He was an avid reader and Protestant by faith.

Deck was preceded in death by his son, William R. McLemore and granddaughter, Stacey Hill.

He is survived by his son, James B. McLemore, Jr. (Dana); 3 daughters, Cathy Kilpatrick (Bibb), Pearl Guidas (Garry Brendle), and Lois Watters (Don); grandchildren, Don, Mike, and Gary Guidas, Cheri Dauphin, Kim DeWilde, Grady Kilpatrick, Rocky, Terry, and George Watters, Jennifer DeLonjay, and Diana McLemore; 20 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a loving caregiver, Kalissa Winter; and special friend, Mildred Locke.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Chaplain Don Guidas officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Asked to serve as pallbearers are Grady Kilpatrick, Dony Guidas, Thomas Guidas, Justin Dauphin, James Dillon Guidas, and Michael Guidas, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Burch, Rabon French, Alton Boyette, Dan Pitts, and Richard Goff.
