Earnest Joe Byrd, 70, of Jacksonville passed away May 31, 2009. He was born November 9, 1938 in Pageland, SC to the late Olin and Mamie Byrd. He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Richard Byrd.
He was a truck driver for over 50 years and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, a son, a daughter, a stepson, an adopted daughter, two brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
