James Evert Rogers, 85, of Crossville, passed away July 6, 2010. Funeral services were held July 8 from West Avenue Church of Christ, with Bro. Joe Pruitt officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mr. Rogers was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Judsonia, AR, the son of the late Joseph Evert and Mattie Lou (Robertson) Rogers.
He worked a boiler maker and welder and was a member of West Avenue Church of Christ. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Ruth (Tabor) Rogers of Crossville; son, James Joseph Rogers of Arkansas; daughter, Frances Flory of Michigan; special niece, Donna Davenport of Crossville; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jerry Davenport, Lavell Miller, Sonny Ramey, Cordell Hensley, Ed Miller and Lynn Miller.
